Day 57, Laos, Houay Xay
As soon as you pass the border you remark that the sense of time in Laos is completely different. Everything is slow. Everything is easy. Slow and easy, are the first two words I connect with Laos. The immigration, the check-in at the guesthouse, the food order at the restaurant, everything takes a lot of time. I love this fact, as I am not in a hurry and am reading good books while waiting. I try to organize my next days and hope that I will be able to enjoy also this country. Tonight I will sleep in a wood bungalow, which is run by a non-profit organization. Only people from hill tribes and foreign volunteers are working here and the profit goes completely to the tribes. Tribe people can stay for free here if they have a family member, who is in the hospital of Houay Xay.
