I decided to take a multiple day journey by slow boats. The decision was a good one today. The 8 hours on a small boat towards the northeastern part of the country were wonderful. Remote villages of tribes live on the river. This morning I nearby missed the boat. After picking up my Vietnam Visa I took a tuk-tuk. I explained him that he has to bring me to the Mekong river, as I will go to Nong Khiaw by boat. As nobody is going by boat and he wasn't able to understand any words in english he just nodded and confirmed with a lovely Yes. Instead of bringing me to the river, he drove to the bus station. I stopped him but the communication with him was impossible. He just smiled and continued towards the bus station. There I finally found english speaking people, who explained him where I have to go. I lost more than 30 minutes but still catched for only 5 minutes the boat. Poah!
