Day 220, Malawi, Ruarwe
The walk towards NYM takes between 20 minutes and an undefined quantity of time. All depends on how many people stop you to chat with you. The first half goes through a narrow and hilly path. At the first couple of houses I cross always many women and children. Te kids look always very dirty and these families seem to be very poor. Every evening the kids and women use to say "Tiwonanenge Namajero" (see you tomorrow) to me and as I was never able to understand the first word I started to reply "Nananana Namajero Uuuuuuhhhh" in the first days. Since then the kids shout this long uuuhhh every time they see me and as long as I can hear them. After this couple of houses there is one house on the top of the hill. Every evening a small girl is standing there waiting for me and as soon she sees me we do the game of drawing letters in the air. Afterwards I cross another couple of houses, there a small and baby-like super-cute girl says 10 times bye bye by waving her hand.
