Day 61, Laos, Luang Namtha
I rented a motorbike and took a ride on the scenic road towards Muang Sing. This small town is located at the Chinese and Burmese border. The road passes through several tribe villages. The north of Laos is home to many tribes of different ethnics. Tribes live in a very simple and traditional way and often they don't feel to be part of Laos. They have their own languages, an own culture and live very locally oriented. The north of Laos produces also a large amount of drugs. Old women are trying to sell me Opium, Ganja and other kind of drugs. This afternoon I visited a waterfall, which was rather boring. On the way back I have been invited by this tribe. They have Tibetans origins and live in simple wood houses. They invited me for some drinks and we had a good time together. I also tried the Lao Lao, which is a rice whisky :-)
