Ashid and the Fast Track Bus

Day 119, India, Kerala, Alappuzha

I am leaving the cape this morning. Not only the sunset but also the sunrise is fantastic here. At the guesthouse where I stayed there is Ashid. He works there. As I leave the guesthouse he hugs me and wishes me all the best. He works very good. He is always ready to help you, offers you coffee and tea, smiles at you like a sunshine, he is always there, you get always his attention. At my arrival he wants to bring my backpack in my room. The backpack is twice his size. Ashid is a strong employee. The best one the guesthouse has. Ashid is seven years old. The money he earns is needed for his family. He speaks the best english I have heard during my stay in Tamil Nadu. Ashid never went to school.
There is a Fast Track Bus connecting Kollam and Alappuzha, I read in the Lonelyplanet. Fast Track in India has following meaning: The road is bad, the bus is bad, the traffic is bad. The driver rides the bus as crazy as he can, as if it would be his last day of life and it doesn't matter if he survives the day or not. I don't know how but I survived the ride.
