The sphere of another world

Day 116, India, Tamil Nadu, Auroville

There are normal towns, there are colonized towns and then, well then there is Auroville. A small village in the heart of Tamil Nadu. 140 different nations are living here out of a population that is somewhere between 2'000 and 3'000 people. There is no money within Auroville. Everybody is contributing to the development of the society or the human race. The whole idea comes from "The Mother". Auroville, a territory that belongs to humanity, composed of an international community, far away from the usual world and even far away from India. Visiting the site is of course very interesting. The progress of life, as the people here declare, is their primary objective. Strange for me that this international community is the heart of small remote villages. Their traditional way of life is suffering as more and more people are attracted by Auroville. To visit the site and to spend some time as volunteers. Back in Pondicherry I take this funny shot. India is full of life!
