Day 144, India, Sikkim, Khecheopalri Lake
As the place is beautiful we stay for one more night at the Lake. I only try to change the guesthouse. I walk upwards towards a monastery and find a lovely Homestay on the top of the hill. This is the place to stay. The food is awesome and the family extremely lovely. The owner is trying to help children from different tribe villages. They are either orphans or have parents that are addicted to alcohol. He gives them a room and some food and the opportunity to go to school. I admire all the local people that are doing good things or social things for others. In India you meet many of them. Families living under the poverty line get 35 kg of rice from the government per rice. This can be seen as positive but has the issue that people tend to become lazy and start to have some addictions. It is difficult to help poor people in a useful way. I try to reach a cave that is some hours away from the place where I am but I get lost in the forest and decide to come back. There are many leeches in the forests and the rains are really strong today.
