Highest sleeping place

Day 156, Nepal, Annapurna, Thorung Phedi, Trekking day 5

Starting altitude: 4'100m
Lowest point: 4'100m
Highest point: 4'500m
Final altitude: 4'500m

Today is the second short trekking day towards the base camp of the highest pass of the world. I feel quite good and am able to sleep relatively good at night. At my arrival at the base camp I feel however exhausted and really tired. The air is so thin and the oxygen so rare here. It will be the coldest night of the trekking and maybe of all my trip. At this altitude there is no vegetation, only a few animals are living here and the views seem to be not a part of our planet. After a nap I feel better. At evening the weather becomes very cloudy and scary.
