The first impact

Day 135, India, West Bengal, Kolkata

I have my lens back and arrive without any problems in Kolkata. Kolkata is the soul of India and has twice the population of Switzerland. In the first few hours I see already so many things I have never seen in my life. The town is full of life, of humanity, a place where still the human workforce is the cheapest and best workforse. A place, where humans carry other humans under the heat of over 40 degrees, in the middle of the traffic. A place, where modernity meets the past. A clash of different times. Kolkata inspires you, makes you feel social, human, full of joy and life, while you see the worst imaginable or most inhuman things. An experience that you have never experienced in your life. A unique place. For my time here I will sleep on the roof of a building that belongs to an NGO, who is investing money and workforce for children in the Slums. Kolkata has many social topics to speak about.
