Day 185, India, Laddakh, Khardung La Pass, Enfield Day 4
Yesterday the highest motorable road of the world was closed because of the bad weather conditions, today I hope to be able to pass through the pass. On the way up the clouds intensify and the weather becomes bad. On the way up I meet an old Canadian man on his Enfield and we ride together. He is at the end of a 9 months trip and rode through all India with his bicycle. He is quite funny as he can't really ride a motorbike and is very, very scared. At the army station the road is blocked and the officer tells us to come back the next day. However, we see that a few minutes later some locals with their cars are allowed to go through and so we insist. I ride through ice and snow and at my arrival in Leh I feel proud to have managed the ride.
