Towards a mystic lake

Day 186, India, Laddakh, Pangong Tso, Enfield Day 5

Cloudy and cold is the weather today. I try to reach the most spectacular lake of Laddakh. Today I have to pass the third highest motorable road of the world and go up to an altitude of 5'360 meters. As usual the upper 20-30 kilometers are difficult and not paved. The lake is situated at 4'600 meters. It is snowing, windy and foggy. The scenery is somehow magical. I find a lovely homestay and will spend 2 nights with a family that lives in this area, cut out of the rest of the world for several months a year and with a very difficult life up here. By the way, the Laddakhi language and also their culture is very similar to the Tibetan one.
