River ride and photo session

Day 167, India, Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi

In the early morning I take a boat on the Ganges to see the Ghats from another perspective. I am together with a wealthy indian couple from Delhi and it is interesting to see how they deal with the boatsman. The lights of the sun shine perfectly over the Ghats and in the morning there is a lot of activity. The morning life at the Ghats shows people washing themselves, others doing the laundry, untouchables burning the dead people, children playing in the water, farmers bringing their animals to cool down into the water, some are fishing and others step into the water to get purified. In the late morning I am invited by an Indian family at their home. It is a one room apartment and 5 people are living here. They have one bed and the size of the bed already fills half of their entire apartment. I take some family pictures of them and they will get it later on. In the evening I meet 4 newcomer tourists in the train towards Agra. It makes me smile to see hear and see how they deal in India. I try to help them.
