Day 194, India, Kashmir, Srinagar
This is a special way to end my Indian experience. The mosques were loud all night long, as they are going towards Ramadan and they use to pray during the whole night. I wasn't therefore able to relax properly. Today when I am walking out of the guesthouse I am shocked about the fact that it is completely quite. No cars, no horns, no people. The whole city is under strike and a part of it even under curfew. Reason for that is the visit of the prime minister and as Kashmir is fighting for independence
since several years and a huge army force is controlling the situation since the street war that exploded 4 years ago today is a hot day. I cannot do the sightseeing I have planned and have to stay in the main touristic area, a strip of 2 kilometers. Yesterday 8 army people have been attacked and killed in Kashmir, one more reason to be cautious today. I hope that tomorrow the situation will be normal again, so that I can catch my flights. All depends of the development of the following hours.
