Crazy Botswana

Day 249, Botswana, Moremi GR

The campsites in Botswana are crazy. All wildlife is walking through the campsites and no garbage can be left outside. In addition to the fact that you have to secure everything you have to pay attention about some specific animals, especially during the night. It is even not recommended to leave the tent at night as hyenas and other animals as wildcats are in proximity or sometimes in your campsite. In Botswana you pay a lot of money to get a place in a campsite of a national park, not because of the service you will receive, but because of the fact that you are next to a waterhole and therefore next to all the wildlife of the NP. Last night I heard the roaring of lions and the laughter of hyenas. Tonight an elephant is hanging around at our campsite since more than 3 hours. He is eating, drinking, doing his toilet-business and enjoying the sunset next to me. Also in the river next to me are several hippos.
