Day 288, Peru, Rio Amazonas
Better than the sound of every other music. The sound of the Amazons, the sound of life, the sound of the nature. So intense and a combination of so many different sounds! Our indigenous guide is really good and explains us about all the plants and trees that are still being used for traditional medicine. He has quite an interesting story, was captured as a child by Guerillas to be trained and used and luckily got free after 6 months of being kidnapped. After the interesting jungle walk we go for fishing and after some time I succeed and am able to catch 3 Piranhas. I eat them all, deep-fried. I see grey and pink dolphins and yesterday night I saw Caymans. Well, Amazon is full of life, indeed. People here don't really belong to one of the three countries. They are all similar and feel a strong connection to the Amazon. The lungs of the world. The mother of the worldwide nature.
