Enjoying the Wadi

Day 15, Yemen, Socotra Island, Wadi Dirhor

Good news! Today the camel wasn't so hungry and he walked very fast. After the long trekking we finally arrived at this Wadi. Our bedouin bought a small goat from a farmer, killed it and cooked it for us. You always eat with your hands and it is very viking-like. While you are eating you try to understand which part of the goat you are eating, as they cook everything. I do not know which parts of the animal I have eaten and I think that it is better that I do not know. Anyway, the food was good.
I am meeting children every day and now I try to teach them small things. Teach them some english words and show them pictures of different places of the Middle East (as f.e. Mecca or Burj Al-Arab) and asking them what they see on the picture. I also show the world map to show them where we are, from where I am etc. They enjoy the lessons.
