Day 29, Oman, Sharqiya Sands
Here I am on the top of a dune in the desert of Oman! This desert is known as the Sharqiya Sands. Here, I will spend a night in the middle of the dunes. It is amazing! While I am writing I can observe the sun, which is going down. The day goes and the night comes. The dunes reflect the red colors of the sun. Far away I can see the Haggir Mountains, there I spent the past few days. Only some bedouins are living here in the desert. You can also find wild camels, snakes, scorpions and other animals living here. No roads and a lot of emptiness render this place beautiful. Today on the road to the desert I had to get a fuel. I paid 12 USD for a full tank, crazy! :-) Petrol is cheaper than water in Oman.
One hour ago I tried for the first time in my life the sandboarding. It was funny, but I still prefer the snow for the boarding. I decided to write a list of nice, funny or strange people I am meeting during my worldtrip. I have already a list of 10 people. Today I want to write something about Ebrahim (my driver in Socotra) he was always looking for me and tried to communicate with me in English. When he speaks in English he often repeat words twice. Like for example: eat, eat! :-)
