Cool down and relax

Day 139, India, West Bengal / Gorkhaland, Darjeeling

I arrive in the hillstation of Darjeeling. The temperatures are much more affordable. I feel well and enjoy the walkings through this wonderful town situated at the entrance of the Himalayan range. I am at an altitude of 2'300 meters. My hotel room has, as usual in India, cold water and this time even the bucket shower. I will enjoy the time here before going further north towards Sikkim. India has 1'000 faces, India is magical! People here look completely different than in the Southern part of West Bengal. They even don't speak Bengali but Nepalese and Hindi. The non-ending richness of Indian culture fulfills me. The mountain makes you feel at home, all over the world people of the mountains are similar. They live very healthy, are friendly and polite, they care about the environment, they love to talk to you and help you for everything. I am fascinated about their simple way of life.
