Day 142, India, Sikkim, Pelling
This part of India doesn't look like India. People look more Tibetian or Nepalese. They also use to speak Nepalese. The food is different, the culture is different, the language is different. I am not far away from Nepal and Bhutan and enjoy the nice relaxing atmosphere of the mountains. The weather is not really good and will not improve during the next days. The monsoon is coming. Mornings are still very clear and I can admire beautiful views over the Eastern Himalaya range and India's highest mountain, afternoons will be cloudy and sometimes rainy. Most of the people belong to the Buddhism and there are a lot of monasteries. Today I will start a multiple day trekking through small tribe villages and monasteries in the hills and valleys of West Sikkim. Sikkim is for sure the most clean area I have ever seen in India and it is very, very green.
